Dallas (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- The West End Cinco de Mayo celebration set for Saturday, May 3 is shaping up even bigger than expected. The West End Association today named seven bands and eight dance troupes to anchor the entertainment, and revealed a growing list of corporate sponsors.

As word of the event has spread, more corporate sponsors have stepped up to be part of this new West End tradition.

  • Hornitos Tequila
  • Downtown Improvement District
  • Wild Bill's Western Store

Wild Bill's Western Store, a popular West End destination, signed on as a sponsor because owner Bill Dewbre sees business traffic growing there. "This is becoming the 'go-to' place in Dallas again," Dewbre said. "The West End merchants always show people a good time."

Jay Kahn, owner of West End restaurants RJ Mexican Cuisine and the Butcher Shop Steak House, and a key organizer of Cinco de Mayo in the West End is equally upbeat.

"This will be the biggest-ever Cinco de Mayo celebration in the West End, one the best fiestas Texas has seen in years," Khan said. "We have incredible food, drinks, dancers and live bands playing all day."
