An Ancient Game With a New Spin Thanks To Technology.

The centuries-old game of dominos gets a makeover for the 21st Century as www.dominomatch.com opens for players worldwide. Owner Roberto Alberdeston explains how a fateful vacation trip ended up being the catalyst for a site enjoyed by many domino players from around the world.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- Although the game of Dominoes goes as far back as the 12th century, Roberto Alberdeston, owner of www.dominomatch.com, a new online dominos game for players worldwide, decided to bring the game into the 21st century - all because of a trip to the Caribbean.

"I was visiting my parents in Puerto Rico when I saw them playing dominoes with a few of their friends and having a tremendous amount of fun. The game is incredibly popular in Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries; so much so that people say that the game of dominoes is the "Poker" of Latin Americans. Based on my personal experience, I can say it's true."

of Latin Americans. Based on my personal experience, I can say it's true.
Alberdeston explains that single event during his vacation had a profound effect on him. "After witnessing the fun my family was having I decided to go online and see how many online games of dominoes were on the web. To my surprise, there really wasn't anything that came close to what I expected to find."

And what did Alberdeston have in mind? He says the online domino games at the time had no avatars and lacked any type of exciting gaming environment. He remembered what a wonderful time his parents and their friends had. That same happy and engaging atmosphere attached to the game of dominoes was void in everything he came across.

So using his skills as a technology/gaming consultant Alberdeston went to work creating what he calls, 'a domino game with spice.' He set out to capture the spirit and authenticity of the domino gaming community. And now, one year after that fateful vacation Alberdeston cut short to begin work on Domino Match, his game is opened to the world.

"What makes Domino Match so wonderfully unique is how it incorporates the emotion and fun associated with dominoes. The typical domino game features only a top view of a domino table and the bones," explains Alberdeston. "Domino Match, however, is a domino lover's dream because it incorporates that spirit that's lacking in other games. Plus, anyone in the world has access to it since it's available for free on the web."

In a technological world, where board games seem to be a dying breed, Alberdeston is proud of the fact that he's found a way to keep that centuries-old spirit alive in the present day thanks to the web. To learn more, or to play Domino Match for free, visit www.dominomatch.com.
