Arlington's hippest boutique showcases famous designers in an event benefiting the DC Fashionista Foundation, a scholarship fund for aspiring young artists.

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- On Thursday, May 22 at 7:00 pm, Current Boutique hosts its first annual fashion show at Gua-Rapo, 2039 Wilson Blvd., in Arlington, VA, featuring models from DC, Maryland and Virginia. Current Boutique owner Carmen Lopez, and Fashion Stylist Anna Birdsall, blend a mix of modern styles with their favorite designer pieces. Expect to see pre-owned labels such as Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Rock and Republic, True Religion and many more! Shoes are provided by Shoefly of Clarendon and hair and makeup by Jouvence Aveda of Reston.

All proceeds from the fashion show benefit the DC Fashionista Foundation, a scholarship fund for emerging young artists and designers. The suggested donation of $10 is payable at the door and no advance tickets are required. Abigail De Casanova, founder of the DC Fashionista Group and the DC Fashionista Foundation, will showcase her jewelry designs in the event. Ms. De Casanova explains that "the DC Fashionista Foundation's goal is to provide fashion scholarships for deserving artists who are willing to share their knowledge and talents with others in the industry."

Not only does the fashion show promise great eye candy for true Fashionistas, but entertainment for the ears as well. Master of Ceremonies, Pamela Sorensen of Pamela's Punch, shares her candid opinions about the state of fashion in DC. Also in the mix is a live performances by the talented vocal artist Mo and DJ Double 07, who brings over 15 years of experience as DC's premier House music DJ. This line-up will have you moving, grooving and mingling with the fashion elite all night long. Who says weekends have to start on Friday?
