Divergent Media Releases ScopeBox 2.0 -- A Major Advance in Video Monitoring and Disk Recording for the Mac

Divergent Media announced today the immediate availability of ScopeBox 2.0, the highly anticipated upgrade to the company's Mac-based video monitoring, capture, and analysis software for acquisition and post production. Scopebox replaces thousands of dollars of traditional hardware waveforms, vectorscopes, preview monitors and direct-to-disk recording tools.

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- Divergent Media announced today the immediate availability of ScopeBox 2.0, the highly anticipated upgrade to the company's Mac-based video monitoring, capture, and analysis software for acquisition and post production. Scopebox replaces thousands of dollars of traditional hardware waveforms, vectorscopes, preview monitors and direct-to-disk recording tools.

"Since launching ScopeBox over a year ago, we've made great strides in changing expectations of what a high-end video analysis system should cost, and our users have embraced the application in ways we never expected. Scopebox 2.0 was rewritten from the ground up to address our users' most vocal requests - adding HDV and multicam support, and offering even faster performance," said Divergent Media CEO Mike Woodworth.

Woodworth also notes, "For many video professionals, high-end scopes were prohibitively expensive. ScopeBox has proven everyone can afford to ensure their video is the best it can be."

New in 2.0:
HDV Support
ScopeBox 2.0 adds support for all the major formats of HDV over FireWire. With the addition of HDV, ScopeBox now seamlessly monitors and records all the major acquisition, editing, and mastering formats on the market. ScopeBox can record HDV signals directly to QuickTime movies or as m2t streams, allowing users to immediately use footage in any major edit system.

Multicam Monitoring and Record
Now users can monitor and record more than one camera at a time. Use ScopeBox to keep an eye on all the feeds of a multi-camera shoot. Match exposure, white balance and more between all cameras, and then easily record these feeds to disk - all at the same time.

Integration with Telestream's Pipeline Network Encoder
By using Telestream's Pipeline network-based video capture device as a remote video source for ScopeBox, systems integrators can replace the video signal chain with an Ethernet network and a single computer. All signal routing, video processing, monitoring and multiplexing of the various tools are handled by ScopeBox - greatly reducing cost, rack footprint, power requirements and thermal output.

Pricing
ScopeBox is available immediately, and comes in Standard Definition and High Definition versions. The SD version has all the functionality of the HD version but supports only standard definition sources. The SD and HD versions of ScopeBox are $399.99 and $699.99 respectively. They are offered at an introductory price of $319.99 and $559.99 through May 31st, 2008. Current users of ScopeBox 1.0 will receive a free upgrade. ScopeBox is available now for purchase from www.ScopeBox.com.
