BrillBaby Brings the World of Infant Education to Parents Everywhere

BrillBaby.com is a new website dedicated to providing parents and caregivers with the latest information on baby intelligence and early learning. It includes a discussion forum where parent-teachers can ask questions and share their experiences. There is also a blog by the editor, who is teaching her own baby reading, math and sign language.

Hong Kong (PRWEB) May 20, 2008 -- A new website, BrillBaby.com, is making the world of infant education and early learning accessible to parents and caregivers everywhere.

Drawing on the latest neuroscientific research as well as their own experiences of teaching babies, the makers of BrillBaby aim to inform and empower parents everywhere to enjoy teaching their babies from home.

I hope to get as many parents as possible involved in the discussion, so we can see how our experiences differ - and coincide.
Website founder KL Wong taught his daughter to read whole words - and understand their meanings - before the age of one. Now aged two and a half, Felicity has graduated to being able to sound out new words. Visitors to the BrillBaby site can see videos of her reading at ages 12, 28 and 29 months.

KL's experience of teaching Felicity convinced him that it is easier to learn to read as a baby than at the age of five or six. He also noticed that he and his daughter were having a great time during lessons - making the teaching experience as much about bonding as learning.

Sure that other parents would welcome similar experiences, KL felt the biggest obstacles were the time and effort required to get to grips with delivering homemade lessons. He himself had spent many hours both on online research and the preparation of teaching materials. Explains KL, "I wanted to create the web's most comprehensive source of information on baby intelligence and early learning, so that other parents would have an easier time than I did."

In an effort to be as all-inclusive and unbiased as possible, the Baby Intelligence section of the website covers the science of early learning as well as the arguments on both sides of the debate about when children should begin learning academic subjects, especially reading. With all the information collected in one place, busy parents are empowered to make informed choices… choices that could have far-reaching implications for their child.

In the Teaching Babies section, parents learn the pros and cons of various teaching methodologies - for example, the Glenn Doman flash card method versus the Robert Titzer multi-sensory method of reading instruction. They can also visit the forum to ask questions and share thoughts and ideas with the site's moderators as well as other parents.

One of those moderators is managing editor Madeleine Fitzpatrick, who is teaching her own baby reading, math and sign language, and discussing her experiences - as well as other parenting issues - on a blog linked to BrillBaby. "Every baby is different, and every parent has to do what works for them," says Madeleine. "I hope to get as many parents as possible involved in the discussion, so we can see how our experiences differ - and coincide."

Infancy is an exciting time in every child's development, and BrillBaby will help parents come to understand and enjoy it as never before.
