A Getaway Package For Today's Economy

Basin Harbor Offers a Package That Includes Gas Credit and Shopping Vouchers

Vergennes, VT (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- With gas prices at record highs and Americans feeling the economic pinch, Basin Harbor Resort has created a special package designed to be a real break.

"The Basin Harbor Shopping Spree" package is a mid-week package that offers guests a $25 shopping voucher for each day of their stay (the longer the stay, the more shopping vouchers!) as well as a gas credit to help ease the pain at the pump.

This year it seemed ideal to offer a little relief from rising gas prices as well as some coupons to ease the impact of a little splurge shopping.
The shopping vouchers are good at TJ Maxx, The University Mall stores and Vergennes Green (redeemable at most Vergennes retailers). In addition to the vouchers, the package includes accommodations, breakfast daily and a $50 gas credit. Rates start at $298 ($248 after credit) for a guest room, double occupancy. This package is available May 14- June 13 and September 1 - October 19, 2008. Two night minimum. Gas credit will be applied at checkout.

"It is always our goal to offer guests a relaxing visit with a little something more," states Pennie Beach, fourth generation host of Basin Harbor Resort. "This year it seemed ideal to offer a little relief from rising gas prices as well as some coupons to ease the impact of a little splurge shopping."

Basin Harbor Club was established in 1886 by Ardelia Beach and has remained family owned for 120 years. Today, guests are greeted by fourth generation hosts, Pennie Beach and Robert H. Beach, Jr. Originally a 225-acre working farm catering to summer boarders, the resort has expanded to cover 700 acres of Vermont's most pristine land along the shores of Lake Champlain, encompassing the main lodge, cottages, a private golf course, spectacular gardens, a 3,200 foot grass airstrip, and the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum‹an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Lake Champlain.
