Seminar Makes an Unusual Pairing of Wine and Financial Statements

Geni Whitehouse, a self proclaimed nerd, will be delivering a seminar comparing the mysteries of wine with the mysteries of financial statements at a Dublin, CA venue.

Dublin, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- The event, called "Wine and Your Bottom Line" will begin at 2:30pm on May 22, 2008 at Stacey's at Waterford in Dublin, CA, which just happens to be owned by the champion of cubicle-bound nerds everywhere, Scott Adams.    

During the event, which is based on her own struggle to understand the nuances of wine selection, Geni Whitehouse, a former partner in an Atlanta CPA firm, will take on the job of helping business people understand exactly what is going on in their financial statements. She will apply her stand-up comedy training to her favorite subject, financial fluency, in hopes that a little bit of wine will make the process of absorbing the message less intimidating.

As founder of an organization called "Even a Nerd Can be Heard", Geni specializes in finding interesting ways to present what others might consider boring. Her technique of combining two dissimilar objects (wine and financial statements) is one of the ways that she plans to tackle this subject. She will help business owners understand the difference between profit and cash, learn what a banker sees when he looks at their financial statements, and find out how the concept of "blind-tastings" might be applied to financial statement preparation.
