This is one of several courses that kickoff the AFS 4th Biennial Emission Solutions Conference that runs through Thursday, October 8th at the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB / PRWEB) September 8, 2009 -- The American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS) is offering "Engine Filtration" training on Monday, October 5th at the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is one of several courses that kickoff the AFS 4th Biennial Emission Solutions Conference that runs through Thursday, October 8th at the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor.

The objective of this short course is to provide practical information on all of the critical engine filtration systems, including air, crankcase ventilation, fuel, lube and emission control subsystems. For each subsystem, filter behavior, requirements, operation, and design will be discussed. Recent diesel engine emission regulations have resulted in new performance requirements for the various filter subsystems.

This course will especially benefit those newer to the field by providing a basic understanding of engine filtration. For those attending the 2009 AFS Emission Solutions Conference, this course will provide background understanding for the technical sessions. Those involved in the design and testing, and use of engine filter and filter media should attend.

The course includes three 1.5 hour modules: for engine air and crankcase ventilation filtration, liquid filtration including lube and fuel filtration, and diesel engine emission reduction including aftertreatment filtration. The course will focus on filtration needs, filtration models, filter design principles, filter performance and overview evaluation techniques.

The course precedes the AFS 4th Biennial Emission Solutions Conference that runs through Thursday, October 8th at the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor.
