Four characteristics define each Boys and Girls Club - and each is essential in providing a positive impact on a child's life: 1) an actual neighborhood-based building - designed solely for youth programs and activities, 2) doors are open daily, after school and weekends when kids have free time and need a positive influence, 3) each club is staffed with trained youth development professionals providing role models and mentors and 4) the program is affordable to all - dues are usually $5-10 per year. BGCAA is part of the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America movement serving over 4.8 million boys and girls.
