A CD release party for Lora Cain's new album "Choose Love" will be held in Los Angeles Saturday, September 29th from 7pm to 10pm at the Church in Ocean Park. The night of freestyle dancing and live performances will also benefit Nine Muses, a non profit organization with after school art programs for kids. "Choose Love" is produced by Jim Watts (Kelly Clarkson, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin) and the benefit is sponsored by The RAY.org, an artistic women's empowerment organization. "Choose Love" was produced by Jim Watts (Kelly Clarkson, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin) and is a collection of uplifting, soulful music that blends genres of R&B/Rock & Blues/New Age Alternative. She's been described as "a voice that is powerfully deep and funky to angelic, heartbreaking and real". The party will feature live performances by Lora as well as her music videos. Sponsored by The RAY, an artistic women's empowerment organization, everyone who attends will receive a free RAY bag and a free CD of "Choose Love". Nine Muses believes that art and culture are essential to the individual, to children, to the family, to the community and the world. A silent auction for Nine Muses and free soda and water will be offered. The event is $15 and will be held at The Church in Ocean Park, 235 Hill Street in Santa Monica, California 90405. A frequent arts performance center, the church is located on the corner of 2nd and Hill, 1 block east of Main Street. There is some parking in the church lot and additional parking on 4th street with plenty of meters behind the stores on the ocean side of Main Street.
About Lora Cain: Lora Cain is a singer/songwriter, author, actor, stand up comedian and former radio talk show host and TV personality. Lora began her career in musical theater as a child and performs throughout Southern California as a singer, dancer, poet and actor. A songwriter and screenwriter, she also co- authored a book on communication called Power Lines: What to Say in Problem Situations (HarperCollins) and is currently writing a book on women's sexuality. Cain has a one woman show called: 'Can You Hear Me Now: My Life in Radio with Rockers, Talkers and Dead People' and is a nationally known voice talent for Jimmy Kimmel Live and some of the biggest corporate names in America. A TV personality, she also worked for the Home Shopping Network and has been a guest expert on national talk shows including CNN, The View, Rachael Ray and has interviewed celebrities from all walks of the entertainment and political worlds. A choreographer, African drummer and dance teacher, she led a weekly dance/singing improvisational class in Los Angeles called HeartSongandDance.com.
