PPQC Adds Delivery of CMMI-ACQ Training and Appraisals to Its Offerings

Process and Product Consulting, LLC (PPQC) has just signed a partnership agreement with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) to add delivery of the CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) training and appraisal services to its other CMMI offerings.

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 3, 2008 -- Process and Product Quality Consulting, LLC (PPQC), the premier deliverer of CMMI services in Houston, TX, announced today that it has signed a partnership agreement with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, PA to deliver CCMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) training and appraisal services. This is a significant milestone as only SEI Partners are permitted to deliver services to this new process improvement model.

CMMI

The CMMI-ACQ is a process improvement model that provides guidance to acquisition organizations for initiating and managing the acquisition of products and services. The model focuses on acquirer processes and integrates bodies of knowledge that are essential for successful acquisitions. The CMMI-ACQ provides an opportunity for acquisition organizations
•to avoid or eliminate barriers and problems in the acquisition process through improved operational efficiencies
•to initiate and manage a process for acquiring products and services, including solicitations, supplier sourcing, supplier agreement development and award, and supplier capability management
•to utilize a common language for both acquirers and suppliers so that quality solutions are delivered more quickly and at a lower cost with the most appropriate technology

With the release of CMMI v1.2 in August 2006 the SEI introduced the constellation framework. This framework allows for 16 Core Process Areas shared by all CMMI constellations, in addition to Process Areas that are specific to the constellation. The CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) was the first constellation. And the CMMI-ACQ released in November 2007 is the second constellation.
