Nationally Acclaimed Cardiologist Joins Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute as Executive Medical Director
Hoag Hospital announced today the addition of Robert Tancredi, M.D., F.A.C.C. (Fellow of the American College of Cardiology) as its executive medical director of the Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute (HHVI).
Newport Beach, Calif. (PRWEB / Vocus) June 23, 2009 -- Hoag Hospital announced today the addition of Robert Tancredi, M.D., F.A.C.C. (Fellow of the American College of Cardiology) as its executive medical director of the Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute (HHVI). Dr. Tancredi was selected following an extensive and thorough executive search process with a pool of very highly qualified candidates.
Tancredi has a long history of participating in, working with and influencing nationally prominent cardiovascular programs including Johns Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American College of Cardiology, the Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees, the Mayo Foundation Board, and the Mayo Group Foundation Board, just to name a few.
"Dr. Tancredi's impressive combination of field experience, knowledge and leadership skills makes him an excellent choice for this position and will ensure the highest level of patient care within the HHVI," said Richard Afable, M.D., president and CEO of Hoag Hospital. In his role, Dr. Tancredi will have responsibilities for the overall operations of HHVI, including all day-to-day management and decision-making. He will work closely with the CEO in establishing strategic priorities in collaboration with the senior staff and be responsible for creating and directing plans to achieve them. He will provide leadership to management, staff, medical directors, and other physicians in the successful operation of HHVI.
