Christmas Eve Not a Silent Night for 4,000 Jewish Singles at The Ball

Massive Jewish Singles party takes over four hip NYC nightclubs and provides guests with free use of Hummer and Escalade limousines to hop between parties.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 12, 2006 -- It’s big. It’s Jewish. And it takes over New York City nightlife each Christmas Eve.

The Ball, the annual Christmas Eve event for Jewish Singles sponsored by LetMyPeopleGo.com has been the country’s biggest Jewish Singles event 11 years in a row (see a video of The Ball). Called “The mother of all Jewish Singles parties” by TimeOut New York, the “the grandest of all, 3,000 strong, including Jewish jet-setters from London, Toronto, and Sydney” by the Village Voice, the “the country's largest Jewish Singles event” by the Washington Post and a place where “the dancing and the flirting were said to have been great” by The New York Times, The Ball has become a NYC Christmas Eve tradition and institution. In addition to being the country’s biggest Jewish Singles party, The Ball is also the country’s biggest singles event of any kind.

Over 4,000 Jewish Singles are expected to attend The Ball 2006 which will be held -- simultaneously -- at four major NYC nightclubs: Duvet, Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel, The Park (indoors and out) and Slate. With the purchase of “Jewniversal Pass” ($25 in advance, $30 at the door), attendees are provided with admission to all four nightclubs and complimentary use of a fleet of Hummer and Escalade limousines -- each seating 20 -- to travel from party to party. Together the four venues offer:

  • 5 DJs
  • 5 dance floors
  • 5 lounges
  • 4 Performing Aerialists (at Hiro and The Park)
  • 1 gorgeous, heated Outdoor Garden (at The Park)
  • 1 Penthouse (at the Park)
  • 30 custom beds upon which up to 8 people can recline (at Duvet)
  • 30 championship pool tables plus ping pong and foosball (at Slate)
  • Full access to each club's VIP areas and lounges.

The event runs from 8 pm – 4 am on December 24th

The Ball was designed as a holiday alternative for Jewish singles left with few entertainment options on their most silent night of the year. Although organized by a small NYC company, The Ball is attended by more Jewish Singles than any Matzo Ball event or any event organized by Jdate®, the Jewish online dating website.

“Christmas Eve has become like New Year’s Eve for Jewish singles,” says founder Jeffrey Strank, “the one night of the year when everyone makes plans in advance to get together, go out, have fun and meet new people. People even contact us during the course of the year from as far away as Europe or Australia because they are coordinating their travel plans to be in New York for The Ball. The Ball also provides a way for people to step away from the online dating websites to enjoy the old-fashioned pleasures of face-to-face interaction.”

Duvet (45 W 21st, between 5th and 6th Aves) features 30 large custom beds on which up to 8 people can recline, a 90-foot glass “Ice Bar,” a 8000-gallon aquarium, dance floor and even a voyeuristic bathroom (one-way mirrors allow one to see out but not in). The Park (118 10th Ave at 18th St) is the Chelsea hipster hangout centered around a giant palm tree and featuring fireside lounges, a heated outdoor garden and a penthouse overlooking the lushly planted patios. Hiro (363 W 16th St at 9th Ave) is the exclusive “Tokyo-chic” ballroom and lounge located in the Maritime Hotel. Slate (54 West 21st St) is a 16,000 square foot entertainment mecca featuring 30 championship pool tables, ping pong, foosball, a 54-foot optic glass bar and a sleek lounge.

“We provide an amazing array of options and atmospheres for our guests,” says Jeffrey Strank, “guests can get out of their limos on West 21st Street and head right to Duvet to dance or spend Christmas Eve in bed or they can head left to enjoy intimate conversation or play pool or ping pong at Slate. They can take a Hummer or Escalade limo to Hiro and enjoy exclusive access and dance in one of the hippest nightspots in the city, they can take a limo to The Park and enjoy a 1200 person indoor and outdoor party. We have 5 DJs playing a wide variety of music, live performances and conversation-friendly areas for making new friendships or renewing old ones.
