What Is The Most Honest Way To Attract Student Loan Consumers? "Educate Them," Says California Loan Firm

Smart Student Loans Inc., a newly founded firm in San Diego, seeks to separate itself by providing service on honest terms.
We've assembled a talented team of veterans who were tired of using cheap ploys to attract students

San Diego (PRWEB) May 11, 2007 -- In the midst of legislative scrutiny over questionable practices in the field of educational lending, a newly founded firm in San Diego seeks to separate itself by providing service on honest terms.

While competing loan consolidators try to attract students with free iPods, cash incentives and other gifts, Smart Student Loans Inc. a start-up student loan consolidator out of San Diego promises a less tangible, but more valuable incentive: information.

That Smart Student Loans Inc. operates its own blog, www.collegeloan-help.com, hardly makes it unique in a field of technologically opportunistic competition. What does make it unique, however, is the company's embrace of information from outside sources that is, at times, critical of the lending industry. Like other consolidators, Smart Student Loans also provides its own content in the form of news reports, articles and editorials. It also provides basic information about loan consolidation, citing directly from the US Department of Education.

Jane Demarco, the company's founder and president, espoused the view that success comes with transparency, "This is a frustrating time for students and graduates. With all of the recent revelations about the lending industry, it's hard to tell fact from fiction. In the current environment, we think the best idea is make a wide range of information accessible to students and to let them decide for themselves. We are, after all, in the business of education."

The website also allows students to pose questions to the counselors at Smart Student Loans directly and free of charge.

"We've assembled a talented team of veterans who were tired of using cheap ploys to attract students," said Demarco. "Provide good information and good service. It's a simple formula that is too easily forgotten."
