Traylor's responsibilities for the physician recruiting firm will include reviewing the credentials of psychiatrists applying for assignments through LocumTenens.com. He also will represent the firm before fellow psychiatrists at professional conferences held by organizations like the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Most recently Traylor practiced with Kaiser Permanente Medical Clinics, serving as Chief of Psychiatry for two years in Richmond, Calif. and for almost six years in Stockton, Calif. He retired from clinical practice in January 2007. Traylor served active duty as a medical officer in the United States Army from June 1964 through December 1991.

"As an Emeritus Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Traylor lends a lot of experience and credibility to our Psychiatry Division," LocumTenens.com Vice President Kevin Thill said. He noted that Traylor also has served as president of the Northern California/Regional Organization of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, among other honors.

A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Traylor earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He interned in categorical psychiatry with Letterman Army Medical Center at the Presidio of San Francisco, California. Following his licensure by the State of California, Dr. Traylor completed his psychiatric residency at Letterman Army Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in child psychiatry at both Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco and Letterman Army Medical Center.

Following completion of his medical education and training in 1981, he led psychiatry departments at the U.S. Army Hospital in Nuremberg, West Germany, from July 1981 through June 1984. Traylor held psychiatry leadership roles at Letterman Army Medical Center at the Presidio of San Francisco from mid-1984 through the remainder of his active-duty military service. From July 1984 through his military retirement in 1991 Dr. Traylor also served as assistant clinical professor with the Psychiatry Department at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco.

Before beginning his medical education and training, Dr. Traylor earned a bachelors degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York
