This year's golf outing will benefit the Bright Side of the Road Foundation, an organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, education, and cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease). ALS is a progressive, usually fatal, neurodegenerative disease caused by the degeneration of motor neurons, the nerve cells in the central nervous system that control voluntary muscle movement.
"We expect over 30 golfers from across the Midwest, including members of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare's executive management staff," said A.J. "We are making a donation with the hopes that a cure can be found in the near future while enjoying a great afternoon of golf."
