The spring season at Killington kicks into high gear when more than 100 of the world’s best snowboarders compete in the finals of the Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, America’s premier snowboarding series, at Bear Mountain March 15-16. The overall champion will be crowned at Killington Resort with prizes totaling more than $130,000, including a new Chevy truck.

Halfpipe qualifiers and night finals under the lights with a live performance from Grammy-nominated, "Shiny Toy Guns," will be held at 5 p.m. on March 15th. On Sunday, March 16, the Paul Mitchell Progression Session Slopestyle qualifiers and finals will take place. The event will be broadcast on NBC March 29th at 2 p.m. EDT. All events are free to the public for viewing and the finish area for both events is an easy walk from the lodge.

Other events highlighting spring skiing at Killington include:

Easter Sunrise Service, March 23
Enjoy the beautiful views of the sun rising over the Green Mountains at Easter Sunday’s non-denominational sunrise service at Killington Peak. Then get first tracks as children search for treats left behind by the Easter Bunny on the slopes.

Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge, March 29-30
Amateur mogul skiers get their chance to shine at the 28th Annual Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge as 200 bumpers compete on the notorious Outer Limits, the steepest, longest mogul trail in the East. In addition to the intense mogul competition, spectators soak up the sun while barbequing and relaxing throughout the Bear Mountain base area. There will be live musical entertainment on the Bear Mountain stage Saturday afternoon.

Spring Loaded, April 5-6
The famous Bear Mountain deck, featured as one of the top five ski resort spectator viewing areas in Outside Magazine, will once again be the place to sit back, soak up the sun, libations and enjoy the vibe and scene at the wildly popular Spring Loaded snowboard. Spring Loaded embraces the free wheeling mentality surrounding snowboarding since its inception, complete with live music on Saturday, April 5. This year’s rail jam will raise money and awareness for Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), as a portion of the entry fee will be donated to B4BC. In addition to the entry fee, competitors can become a fundraiser and qualify for great prizes from B4BC or support a fundraiser. With the combination of music and competition in rails, slopestyle and superpipe, this event extols the true spirit of snowboarding in a party atmosphere extending far beyond Bear Mountain.

Sunshine Daydream, April 12
The action moves to the K-1 Lodge for the Sunshine Daydream Festival as Jerry-followers as well as those who simply enjoy soulful music will find an all-day party plus classic New England spring skiing and riding. Sunshine Daydream Festival is part of the Bud Light Concert Series and features bands playing Grateful Dead covers.

Pond Skimming, April 13
The annual rite of spring, the 27th Annual Pond Skimming takes place April 13th as skiers and riders negotiate an icy pond and compete for prizes in best overall skim, best splash, best costume and the mysterious judge’s award.
