Second Annual ‘It’s All about Me Retreat’ to Take Place Columbus Day Weekend

New York City (PRWEB) September 14, 2006 -- The second annual It’s All About Me (IAAM) Retreat will take place during Columbus Day Weekend 2006, Saturday, October 7th – Sunday, October 8th in Princeton, NJ at the beautiful Princeton Marriott Hotel Conference Center at Forrestal. The IAAM Retreat will create a platform to address the wellness and well-being of African-American women. It is an opportunity to convene in a serene environment without interruption, without judgment; it will also give women the much needed time and space to Reflect on experiences (family, career, spirituality.), to Relate the experiences to one another and to Renew themselves. It’s a weekend away from significant others to concentrate on self.
The speakers and workshop leaders, scheduled to appear, encompass some of the most powerful, popular, recognized and celebrated African-American women in the entertainment, sports, political and business arenas. Some of the featured speakers will be noted authors Rev. Marcia L. Dyson, LaJoyce Brookshire, and Robynne Kamil; some key speakers will be Pamela Fish, Esq., Deja Vu, April Yvonne Garrett and Kathy Wilson-Duprey.
The IAAM Retreat will offer interactive breakout sessions, informative talks, spiritual moments, poetry, as well as loads of networking, take home resources and goodies. The Princeton Marriott is a perfect place to enjoy the IAAM Retreat. The Princeton Marriott features spacious accommodations, amenities and is conveniently located in central New Jersey, midway between New York City and Philadelphia. “These words—Reflect, Relate, Renew - - appear in Webster’s yet are not part of the African-American woman’s everyday existence. Our women rarely use these words in relation to themselves; much less experience their relevance. We neglect ourselves for the sake of others,” Brigitte Collins Powell, CEO of The Little Details LLC., the IAAM Retreat producer comments.
“We are always juggling, managing, overcoming and sometimes just accepting. These three powerful words – Reflect Relate, Renew - - describe the vision of the IAAM Retreat,” Powell powerfully concludes.
