Lawsuit Online Signup over Avandia (Rosiglitazone) Side Effects is Announced by the Law Offices of Howard G. Smith

PHILADELPHIA (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) January 25, 2008 -- The Law Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that an online sign up is available for a lawsuit on the behalf of people injured by taking Avandia. The suit will allege that the manufacturer of the drug, GlaxoSmithKline, failed to properly warn patients and their doctors of the known Avandia side effects.

Avandia (rosiglitazone) is a widely prescribed medication used to treat Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus, a condition also known as Adult-Onset Diabetes. On May 21, 2007, the FDA issued a Safety Alert regarding Avandia. The FDA Safety Alert warns that patients who are taking Avandia, especially those who are known to have underlying heart disease or who are at high risk of heart attack, should speak to their physicians about their continued use of Avandia (rosiglitazone).

The FDA's Safety Alert follows a study released on the same day. The study concluded that patients taking Avandia face both an increased risk of suffering a heart attack and an increased risk of dying from heart related disease, such as congestive heart failure or CHF.

Located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and with associations all across the country, the Law Offices of Howard G. Smith has experience helping people hurt by defective drugs recover money for their injuries. The firm has represented clients in federal and state courts throughout the country. The Law Offices of Howard G. Smith has developed a national reputation for excellence in the prosecution of defective drug cases. Because we represent many people injured by the same drug, we are in a unique position to negotiate the best possible outcome for our clients. We also take customer service seriously. You will always speak to a lawyer, never a receptionist. Customer service is our promise to you.

If you or someone you represent suffered the Avandia side effects of a heart attack or congestive heart failure while taking the drug or soon thereafter, you can join the lawsuit online against GlaxoSmithKline by visiting our website at http://hgslaw.net, or call the Law Offices of Howard G. Smith, toll-free, at (888) 638-4847, to protect your rights.
