Niagara Falls Named One of the "Seven Wonders of Canada"
New Niagara Falls Blog and Interactive Website Demonstrates Popularity of Canadian Vacation Destination as one of Canada's Seven Wonders
Niagara Falls, Ontario (PRWEB) July 16, 2007 -- For their "essential Canadian-ness" as well as the "ability to inspire," Niagara Falls has been selected by both Canadian voters and CBC judges as one of the "Seven Wonders of Canada." The seven finalists included Canadian travel destinations such as the Igloo, Old Quebec City, the Canadian Rockies, and the Prairie Skies.
"It is a tribute to the magnificence of the falls to be chosen from among so many spectacular natural sites and destinations in Canada," says Anna Pierce, Executive Director of Niagara Falls Tourism. "Residents as well as those who come for a Niagara Falls vacation are very passionate about the falls and the Niagara region."
The recently redesigned Niagara Falls Tourism website attests to the popularity of the Canadian destination. A consumer-driven blog--blog.niagarafalls.travel--offers visitors an opportunity to post photos and video of their Niagara getaway. Almost immediately upon launch, the blog attracted Niagara family vacation photos, videos of the falls, and personal stories about Niagara attractions such as the Journey Behind the Falls and the Maid of the Mist.
The site provides comprehensive travel information--from Where to Stay to Things to Do--as well as its own show--Falls TV. The five-minute television show, with new releases on a monthly basis, focuses on travel tips, seasonal Niagara attractions, insiders' secrets, and special promotions such as Niagara hotel packages.
The new Niagara Falls Tourism website will continue to tell the story of Niagara Falls through visitor Blog posts, shared vacation photos, interactive Falls TV programming and more.
According to the CBC website, Niagara Falls was among 52 possible choices for the "Seven Wonders of Canada" honor, and one of only two of the Seven Wonders to appear on both the judges' choices and voter's selections.
