Super Chevy, CARS Inc. and the Roadster Shop
Unite to Launch Project American Heroes

Brands Will Work Together to Build and Auction a Custom 1957 Chevy
for U.S. Military Personnel in Need

LOS ANGELES (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) May 2, 2007 -- PRIMEDIAs Super Chevy magazine today announced it is teaming up with CARS Inc. and the Roadster Shop to recreate a classic 1957 Chevrolet convertible and sell it at the world-renowned Barrett-Jackson car auction to benefit the Armed Forces Foundation. The endeavor is called Project American Heroes (www.projectamericanheroes.org) and all proceeds from the sale will go to help the families of fallen and disabled soldiers.

Project American Heroes is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the military personnel who have sacrificed so much, said Super Chevy (www.superchevy.com) magazine publisher, Ed Zinke. Many of them share our passion for the automobile, so we could think of no better outlet than the creation of the ultimate 57 Chevy.

BWNewsImage523194.jpg Kicking off this summer, multiple partners will unite and contribute to the 57 Chevy dream car build. CARS Inc. will supply the steel body and complete interior as well as a full compliment of exterior trim pieces, body moldings, and miscellaneous components; everything necessary to outfit a complete car. The Roadster Shop will equip the body with one of its custom frames as well as building the complete turnkey vehicle. Most importantly, Armed Forces personnel can participate in the project online by selecting the color schemes, interior designs, and exterior trims via the Project American Heroes Web site (www.projectamericanheroes.org).

Additional contributors to Project American Heroes include several leading brands in the performance automotive aftermarket industry such as Heidts Hot Rod Shop, Air Ride, Holley, Moser, Stainless Steel Brakes, Competition Cams, K&N, Nitto Tires, and Flaming River among others.

Super Chevy readers will be involved every step of the way, following the complete build across multiple issues of the magazine. Starting in the August issue (on newsstands June 26th), the magazine will include articles focused on distinct portions of the project vehicle, including frame, body, suspension, engine, driveline, and paint. Coverage will continue throughout the summer leading up to the final Barrett-Jackson auction experience in Scottsdale Arizona next January. Super Chevy will also be chronicling the build process for a 100-page newsstand-only special issue in September.

More information on this exciting program can be found on Super Chevys web site, www.superchevy.com or at www.projectamericanheroes.org where additional donations will be accepted for this worthy cause.
