London, UK (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- BigHand, the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 company, today announced that it has successfully rolled out its award-winning BigHand3 Digital Dictation software at business law firm Osborne Clarke. As a direct result of the software rollout, the firm expects to achieve efficiency gains in excess of £2million over the next five years.
Key quantifiable benefits for the firm include:
- A reduction in document turnaround times – in the Property Practice alone, the initial pilot project reduced average document turnaround times by 77%.
- Fee earner to PA ratios moving from 2:1 to 3:1 over the medium term through the use of existing PA resource for new fee-earner recruits.
- A significant reduction in the use of temporary PA resources.
The system will also enable the firm to pool resources across offices to provide a more efficient service for fee earners, particularly with regard to supporting corporate transactions in the London office. Chris Bull, COO at Osborne Clarke commented:
“The BigHand3 project proves that innovative technologies can directly improve the work flow between PA’s and lawyers as well as across office locations. The system has been welcomed by everyone involved, productivity and team working are up and unnecessary costs are lower – a great result for any software implementation and any law firm."
Steve Butterworth, Sales Director at BigHand said:
"We are pleased the process changes resulting directly from the roll-out of BigHand3 Digital Dictation software brought about such a significant benefit for Osborne Clarke. Importantly these are not vague projections, but figures calculated by Osborne Clarke on the basis of savings made to date and then totalled over the next five years."
