Gay Rodeo & Festival Returns to San Francisco Bay Area

The Best Buck in the Bay--San Francisco Bay Area's 15th Annual Gay Rodeo & Festival--is pleased to announce the return of 3 full days of parties, entertainment, and great rodeo action September 15-17.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 29, 2006 -- The Best Buck in the Bay--San Francisco Bay Area's 15th Annual Gay Rodeo & Festival--is pleased to announce the return of 3 full days of parties, entertainment, and great rodeo action September 15-17. The Cathedral Hill Hotel at 1101 Van Ness Avenue will serve as home to the many visiting contestants and rodeo fans from throughout the United States and Canada. The hotel will also serve as the venue for the dances and parties that are a big part of "rodeo weekend." During the day on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 the beautiful Midori Arena at Driscoll Ranches in La Honda is where all the rodeo action happens.

On Friday, September 15th the weekend gets kicked off at the hotel at 6 pm with a special evening of "Buckin' Bingo" hosted by the ever-fabulous Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Absolutely hysterical and always loaded with plenty of surprises, this isn't your typical bingo. Then at 8 pm that the night, the first big party kicks off with the Western Warehouse Country Dance. It features great country-western dancing into the early morning hours in the main ballroom and when not dancing, all will be entertained by a great line-up of entertainers off the mezzanine.

On the morning of Saturday, September 16th, everyone will be taking the scenic drive down the peninsula to arrive at the stunning Midori Arena at Driscoll Ranches in La Honda. The rolling hills and towering redwoods make for a perfect setting for a full day of great rodeo action. Spectators will be treated to men and women competing in 13 rodeo events including Bull Riding, Bareback Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, and the Wild Drag Race. Additionally, there will be dancing, food, beverages, and a number of vendors in the festival area on the grounds.

As contestants and spectators return from the rodeo grounds on the 16th, they'll be getting ready for the biggest country party of the year--the "Buckin' Ball." The party begins at 8 pm in the Grand Ballroom of the host hotel and features world-renowned recording artist Scooter Lee hitting the stage at 9 pm. There will also be some great featured entertainment off the mezzanine and all will be treated to a special performance by the Barbary Coast Cloggers just before midnight.

On Sunday, September 17th, the action moves back down the peninsula for a second full day of rodeo followed by a very special contestant awards ceremony and celebration in the festival area.

"The non-stop festivities that comprise our gay rodeo weekend are what make it such a unique experience in our community. You don't have to know a thing about rodeo, or even be a country music fan, to be entertained at our events. And where better to do it than in the San Francisco Bay Area! Gay rodeo will find a whole lot of new fans within our community here!," said Eric Hanson, Mr. International Gay Rodeo Association 2004.
