Headache Sufferer Turns Affliction into Million-Dollar Idea with Products Now in More Than 5,000 Stores

In 1995, Wayne Perry was self-defense instructor whose innovative street survival workshops caught the attention of talk show producers, landing him guest spots on Maury Povich, Montel Williams and Oprah Winfrey. Perry suffered from chronic headaches for years until he accidentally discovered his own remedy thanks to his experiences with self-defense pepper spray.
The pepper burned like hell as usual, but I knew right away my headache was gone and I felt great. All the pain and inflammation in my head was instantly relieved. It was a miracle. I always knew the pepper cleared my sinuses, but I never experienced it during a headache attack. I knew right then I discovered something important and I set out to create the first hot pepper headache nasal spray

Albany, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2007 -- A former self-defense instructor who suffered from chronic headaches has turned his own natural remedy into a big seller now available in more than 5,000 stores.

Itoppage1sinusbusters.jpgn 1995, Wayne Perry was self-defense instructor who specialized in non-lethal weapons. His innovative street survival workshops caught the attention of talk show producers, landing him guest spots on Maury Povich, Montel Williams and Oprah Winfrey.

As an advocate for non-lethal weapons, Perry routinely ended his workshops by being sprayed with real police pepper spray at the hands of an audience volunteer. Then one fateful day, Wayne accidentally discovered that hot peppers had the uncanny ability to stop headaches almost instantly.

Wayne suffered from chronic cluster headaches for most of his life, and although he had been on many medications, nothing ever completely relieved his headaches. Wayne never had an attack during one of his self-defense workshops until 1996, when he agreed to be sprayed for live cameras at a FOX News affiliate in New York. Minutes before being sprayed by the reporter, Perry was stricken with a nasty headache attack. Barely able to stand from the throbbing pain, Perry let the reporter spray him directly in the face as he had done so many times before. It was at that moment the would-be inventor realized he had discovered his own natural remedy.

"The pepper burned like hell as usual, but I knew right away my headache was gone and I felt great. All the pain and inflammation in my head was instantly relieved. It was a miracle. I always knew the pepper cleared my sinuses, but I never experienced it during a headache attack. I knew right then I discovered something important and I set out to create the first hot pepper headache nasal spray," says Perry.

Wayne spent the next couple years developing the perfect nasal spray - not for sale, but for his own use. Then after losing his job 2003, Perry who was a single parent, decided to start selling his spicy nasal spray on eBay under the brand name Sinus Buster. Within a few short months, Sinus Buster was selling so fast he could barely keep up with orders. Then the testimonials started pouring in from customers praising his product unique product. And not just for headaches, Sinus Buster was also being touted as a sinus and allergy remedy. Barely three months after hitting the market, doctors were also praising Sinus Buster, and the media followed suit.

"Once I started getting all those testimonials, I knew I had a real winner. I started a website and began advertising with Google Adwords on a budget of ten dollars a day. All I had was five hundred bucks to start with, and I was working two part time jobs trying to make ends meet. I just knew I had something here, and I had to go for it. Believe me, three hundred bucks was all the money in the world to us then. I couldn't pay my rent that month because I had to buy bottles and labels, but I knew I had to take the chance" says Perry.

In 2004, Sinus Buster sales topped 250K, and last year's revenue neared the 2 Million dollar mark. In addition, the Sinus Buster line now includes eight different products all registered with the FDA for over the counter sale. Perry's company, SiCap Industries also carries a dozen other natural pepper based health products, each invented by Perry.

"It's like I found my calling that day I was sprayed in the face. Now the ideas for products never stop coming. I research. I read. I think and I create. And every time I get a call or email from somebody praising one of our products, it drives me to create even more. In fact we're about to release a new product line designed for use with neti pots and nasal rinse systems called Sinus Genie. We're always creating new products and new markets," adds Perry.

Aside from their spicy nasal sprays which can be found in thousands of stores nationwide, SiCap Industries also has a line of pepper based products for skin care, cough & cold and even weight loss. With Sinus Buster now headed into the big box stores, SiCap Industries is aiming to become a nutraceutical giant with products in every health related category.
