2006 NY-Bred by Mr. Greeley Out of Dehereofthedog Sells at Keeneland for $260,000

A NY Bred owned by a locally based group of owners has sold at the Keeneland September Sale for $260,000.

Saratoga Springs, NY (PRWEB) September 20, 2007 -- A NY Bred owned by a locally based group of owners has sold at the Keeneland September Sale for $260,000. The 2006 colt by Mr. Greeley is out of the stakes mare Dehere of the Dog. Dehere of the Dog was the first horse purchased for the racing partnership under the Parting Glass Racing horse racing partnerships umbrella, with Parting Glass Pub owner Joan Desadora as one of the original owners. The filly was raced, then retired and retained by the racing partnership as a broodmare, where she resides at Tom and Mia Gallo's Blue Stone Farm in Cambridge, NY. Her foals are all registered NY Breds.

We bred to Mr. Greeley at a time when his stallion fee was at a reasonable price and we're happy and excited to have sold such a nice, NY Bred at the world-renowned Keeneland September Sale. It's a proud moment when the offspring of a mare you raced in a racing partnership and retained as a broodmare sells well in such a competitive world class marketplace.
The racing partnership has retained the 2005 by Johannesburg out of Dehereofthedog, named Dirty Water Dog. He will be trained by Barclay Tagg and is anticipated to run at Belmont this fall. Tom Gallo, Managing Partner, commented that, "We bred to Mr. Greeley at a time when his stallion fee was at a reasonable price and we're happy and excited to have sold such a nice, NY Bred at the world-renowned Keeneland September Sale. It's a proud moment when the offspring of a mare you raced in a racing partnership and retained as a broodmare sells well in such a competitive world class marketplace." As noted on the New York Breds website, nybreds.com, "In 2006, 29 New York-breds won 43 open company stakes in 10 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, in three countries on two continents, including 18 victories in graded stakes competition. The were 79 New York-bred open stakes horses that recorded a total of 127 on-the-board (1st, 2nd, 3rd) finishes in open stakes during 2006, which -- considering that New York-breds represent 4% of the total North American foal crop -- is an exceptional accomplishment."

Tom Gallo also manages the Parting Glass Racing partnerships and consigns horses for public and private sale through his sales company, Thomas J. Gallo III Sales Agency, LLC.
