The campaign centers around a series of video mockumentaries which chronicle the work of the fictional Dr. Turbatus and his crusade against Restless Nurse Syndrome (RNS). Our goals are to drive traffic to our main website MedicalSolutions.com and to increase brand awareness of our company. We're hoping to achieve this by leveraging nontraditional web and media outlets to target nurses in various demographics. We believe the humorous experiences of the nurses Dr. Turbatus studies will resonate with our target audience

Omaha, NE (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- Travel nursing and allied health staffing company Medical Solutions has launched an integrated viral marketing campaign aimed at creating awareness among nurses and allied health professionals about the travel nurse industry and Medical Solutions.

Driving the campaign is a series of video mockumentaries chronicling the work of the fictional Dr. Turbatus who has discovered a serious epidemic facing nurses called Restless Nurse Syndrome (RNS). The mockumentaries are hosted on the campaign's website RestlessNurseSyndrome.com.

The campaign is being promoted through both traditional and nontraditional media. An email announcement to Medical Solutions' nurses and allied health professionals in conjunction with a news story on MedicalSolutions.com initiated the campaign. The mockumentary videos were posted on the Medical Solutions YouTube channel as well as Dr. Turbatus' YouTube channel and MedicalMingle.com, a nursing social network, in addition to RestlessNurseSyndrome.com. Print ads are running in Healthcare Traveler magazine, the leading travel nursing lifestyle publication while banner ads have been posted on travel nursing job websites. Plans also call for Dr. Turbatus to make a surprise visit or two at nursing conferences and forums throughout the year.

"Our goals are to drive traffic to our main website MedicalSolutions.com and to increase brand awareness of our company. We're hoping to achieve this by leveraging nontraditional web and media outlets to target nurses in various demographics. We believe the humorous experiences of the nurses Dr. Turbatus studies will resonate with our target audience," said Scott Anderson, Medical Solutions President.

RestlessNurseSyndrome.com serves as the informational hub of the campaign. While defining Restless Nurse Syndrome, it also promotes the cure for RNS, the imaginary drug Lacidem taken in conjunction with a 13-week travel nursing assignment from Medical Solutions.

The interactive site allows nurses to diagnose their RNS symptoms and order Lacidem pills (spearmints) online. If the nurse feels she does have RNS she is encouraged to contact a Certified RNS Specialist, which is a Medical Solutions Recruiter. In addition, RestlessNurseSyndrome.com provides an opt-in form for subscribers to receive an email alert when each new mockumentary is available and a widget for nurses to incorporate on their social network pages.

Nurses can also interact with Dr. Turbatus through his blog at DrTurbatus.com and through social networking sites MySpace and Facebook.

Research of the top reasons nurses become travel nurses led to the creation of the four strains of Restless Nurse Syndrome: Locationitis, Nofriendleosis, Salarytosis and Jobsession. Locationitis aimed at their desire to see and experience new locations. Nofriendleosis is directed at their craving to meet new people. Salarytosis is pointed towards their yearning to increase their pay. Jobsession is aimed at their longing to experience new challenges in their career. Focusing on these top motivators for traveling nurses leads to a targeted message aimed at nursing and allied healthcare professionals.

All creative efforts were completed in-house by the Medical Solutions Marketing department. All actors are Medical Solutions employees and local Omaha musicians Czer, Old Money, and Satchel Grande contributed to the soundtrack. "Using all our own people really gave a human touch to the campaign. They were all very enthusiastic about taking part and it will be a great way for our nurses to get to see some of the faces behind the names," said Patrick Fuerstenau, Medical Solutions Marketing Specialist.
