Merkle Ranks in 2007 Inc. 5,000 List of Fastest-Growing Businesses
LANHAM, Md. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) August 24, 2007 --
Merkle (www.merkleinc.com), one
of the nation’s largest database marketing
agencies, announced its inclusion in the Inc. 5,000, the first-ever list
of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. Merkle’s
three-year sales growth rate of 133.1% and revenue of $149.4 million
placed it 2597 on the list.
The Inc. 5,000 ranking is an extension of Inc. magazine’s
annual Inc. 500 list. The new list includes many businesses that are too
big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500 list, yet
represent the backbone of the U.S. economy. Complete information on this
year’s Inc. 5,000 is available at www.inc.com/inc5000.
“The Inc. 5,000 provides the most
comprehensive look ever at the most important part of the economy –
the entrepreneurial part,” said Inc. 5,000
Project Manager Jim Melloan. “The expansion of
the list has allowed us to tell the stories of larger companies, older
companies, and a wealth of companies in industries like manufacturing
and construction that are underreported in the business media.”
Merkle provides Fortune 1000 companies and major nonprofit organizations
with advanced data-driven marketing insight and strategic approaches
that maximize the effectiveness of marketing programs. Merkle supports
all aspects of its clients’ marketing
programs, from initial strategy and program creation to execution and
results measurement.
Merkle President and CEO David Williams said, “For
the past several years, Merkle has experienced an annual growth rate
exceeding 30 percent, which is a result of internal organic growth and
strategic acquisitions in areas critical to the continued development
and success of the company. The Inc. 5000 ranking is another key
indicator of the strong position in the marketplace that we have
attained as well as the overall sustained demand for insightful
marketing approaches that enable organizations to realize actual,
measurable return on investment in their marketing programs.”
The 2007 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2003 through 2006.
To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based and privately held and
independent as of December 31, 2006, and have had at least $200,000 in
revenue in 2003 and $2 million in 2006.
