MRE Food Supplies Have Become Reliable Standby During Emergencies

CampingSurvival.com now has increased its stock of MRE and added two more suppliers. Buyers can now choose from Sopakco, A-Pack Ready Meals or International Meals Supply for delicious, high quality MRE.

Fulton, NY (PRWEB) February 9, 2007 -- In times past, national emergencies such as snowstorms, hurricanes and earthquakes often brought fears of survivability in their aftermath. Where would people go for their food if roads were closed? What happens when stores are closed or destroyed?

In recent years, however, the growing popularity of MRE (Meals Ready to Eat), has enabled many people to have tasty food that is ready when nature strikes. In fact, MRE food packs have become so sought-after that suppliers ran out in the days following Hurricane Katrina.

When you're without power for days on end, boxes of dried pasta aren't going to help you. Having enough MRE helps ensure that you and your loved ones have safe and healthy food until life returns to normal.
As a result, CampingSurvival.com now has increased its stock of MRE and added two more suppliers. Buyers can now choose from Sopakco, A-Pack Ready Meals or International Meals Supply for delicious, high quality MRE.

With snow and ice storms already hitting several cities around the country this winter, and terrorism a continuing threat, many people are realizing that boxed or canned food is inconvenient and sometimes impossible to prepare in the middle of a crisis. And as the nation has seen in recent disasters, preparedness can make the difference between riding out the storm or fighting for survival.

"Having MRE supplies in your pantry is simply good planning," said Tom Sciacca, President of CampingSurvival.com. "When you're without power for days on end, boxes of dried pasta aren't going to help you. Having enough MRE helps ensure that you and your loved ones have safe and healthy food until life returns to normal."

Sciacca also points out that the shelf life of an MRE - up to 12 years - makes it a much more reliable and safe emergency food supply than a pantry full of store items. Meals are generous, too - up to 2/3 of a pound.

"These Meals Ready to Eat are not like the old C-rations and they aren't freeze dried," Sciacca continued. "The new MRE can be eaten right from the pouch at room temperature or heated in five minute using boiling water or a heater pouch. They taste better and they're made with maximum nutrition in mind."

He concluded, "Panic isn't brought on by disaster, but by failure to prepare. We're ready to handle the increase in orders for MRE. Now it's up to everyone to ensure that their households have the supplies to be prepared for natural and man-made disasters."
