Oconee County Sheriff's Office Improves Record Keeping With Records Management Systems from InterAct Public Safety Systems

Oconee County, GA is closer to reaching their goal of a paperless operation by adding the Athena suite of records management solutions for law enforcement and corrections from InterAct Public Safety Systems. These new systems are integrated with their existing InterAct dispatch software including CAD, GIS and NCIC.

"Many years ago, before we had InterAct CAD, all Oconee County had was paper and pencil to keep track of call-taking and dispatching," said Captain Jimmy Williams, communications supervisor for the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. "InterAct was great with the transition and really worked with us to ensure that we had exactly what we wanted. InterAct has grown a lot since then, and have maintained a high level of customer service and added great new products to their suite of public safety solutions, including AthenaRMS."

Since going live with AthenaRMS and AthenaJMS in October of 2007, Captain Williams describes the system as an easy transition and "working smoothly." Oconee had a lot of specific needs and requirements for their RMS system, and Athena met the task with its flexible and customizable interface and infrastructure.

"Everyone who uses it likes the fact that you can scan different items into the system attach it to the RMS report," said Captain Williams. "Beyond that, you can easily record a CAD call into RMS, speeding and streamlining that process, eliminating duplicate entry and thus transcription errors. We are the first agency in the state to go live with AthenaRMS and love the way it works. InterAct has developed a full robust system for us and we couldn't be happier."
