Theatre construction includes four additional screens and stadium seating

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) October 19, 2007 -- Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE:RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, today announced expansion and renovation plans for Regal’s Shoppingtown Mall theatre located in the Syracuse market. Construction of four new auditoriums and a new lobby is expected to be complete in time for the summer movie season. Other renovations will include new seats and stadium seating in the original auditoriums. The entire renovation project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2008. The theatre will remain open continuously throughout the expansion and renovation.

The new Regal Cinemas Shoppingtown Mall Stadium 14 will encompass approximately 64,000 square feet in a total of 14 auditoriums. The original theatre opened in September of 1997 with 10 screens. The newly expanded facility will include each of the original auditoriums converted to stadium seating, plus four new larger stadium auditoriums.
