Pushing Pills, Rock 'n' Roll, and Katherine Heigl

Indie Band Featured on Soundtrack; Releases Second Album

Madison, WI (PRWEB) January 4, 2008 -- Garage-rock band The Treats, whose serendipitous first big break came in the form of having to watch Katherine Heigl repeatedly take off her clothes in the film ''Side Effects'', announces the release of their new CD Reservoir Tales on February 26, 2008.

The national launch of Reservoir Tales precedes New Line Home Entertainment's DVD release of the independent and controversial film ''Side Effects'' starring Katherine Heigl. The film, featuring music from The Treats (during a particularly saucy scene), is a satirical look at the pill pushing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry.

a stunning show of passion and originality.
Although landing a spot on the ''Side Effects'' soundtrack may have been the bands big coup, their latest album Reservoir Tales is what has critics praising this eclectic group from Madison, WI.

Reservoir Tales was picked as "Madison's top album of 2007" by Rick Albertoni of Isthmus, who calls the album "a stunning show of passion and originality."

There is breadth and maturity to The Treats' lyrics and melodies that surpass the 'if you heard one, you heard em' all trend. As each song on Reservoir Tales unfolds the listener has no idea what they will get next, similar in approach to the ever-evolving and surprising groups such as White Stripes, Bright Eyes, and The Flaming Lips.

Featuring low-down, swaggering rock and roll tracks like ''Not Enough'', an incisive Latin gallop ''Cuchillo'', and the raw and sparse ballad ''You Don't Have to Change'', Reservoir Tales proves that The Treats know how to build a song and a diverse album. That could be because these engineers-by-day, musicians-by-night use their professional skills to carefully craft and perfect original music.

Lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Andy Isham brings provocative lyrics and a penetrating voice to the album, while drummer and fellow songwriter, Don Isham and Tim Payne, bass player and master sound engineer, deliver the artful balance that is The Treats.

To request a copy of Reservoir Tales for review, arrange an interview with the band, or for more information about The Treats, visit The Treats' website.
