Travel Website Launches Gift Subscriptions for Wine Trip Guides to France

A tour in French wine country visiting vineyards and cellars; tasting wines and sampling local food is a dream for any wine lover. The Wine Travel Guides website offers on-line guides with all the information the independent traveller needs to plan a wine trip in France. The comprehensive guides are available by annual subscription, which are now also available as gifts.

London, UK (PRWEB) November 30, 2007 -- Wine Travel Guides has launched gift subscriptions which provide the ideal year-long present for people who love wine and travel. The content and the layout are exemplary, attractive and informative - even for a long-term resident, let alone a prospective visitor.
Launched by UK-based wine writer Wink Lorch earlier this year, Wine Travel Guides is a completely independent website, offering guides written by wine and travel specialists with the inside knowledge of their area. The guides provide everything needed to plan a successful wine trip including recommendations and incisive information on tasting local wines and food, visiting vineyards and cellars, and enjoying wine country tourism.

The guides currently cover all the main French wine regions, divided up into bite-sized chunks; the site will expand to include more countries in the future. The core of the guides is the selection of wine producers to visit, and places to stay, eat and shop, complete with full contact details and links. Specialist writers include Tom Stevenson on Champagne, Rosemary George MW on Chablis, Jane Anson on Bordeaux, Sue Style on Alsace and Paul Strang writing about the South-West.

Wink Lorch, who conceived and runs Wine Travel Guides commented: "Our guides are perfect for those who prefer not to travel on group tours and need helpful, authoritative information so that they can venture out on their own. With our guides, everything you need to plan a great wine trip is available in one place on the web, researched and written by professionals."

There is no advertising on the site and no sponsorship, so the guides are available by annual subscription with three price levels. Registration on the site lets website visitors view or download a free sample Guide. The special gift page allows subscriptions to be purchased for another person, who will receive a gift voucher, complete with details of how to activate the subscription.

The guides are updated regularly and can be viewed on-line or printed out as PDF files. Providing an important tool for all wine trips, the top-level gold subscription gives access to interactive, detailed Michelin maps with the locations of the recommended wine producers, hotels and restaurants, as well as access to the famous Michelin green guides.

In the short time Wine Travel Guides has been live visitors from more than 12 countries have subscribed to the guides. An English subscriber based in France wrote after downloading his first guide: "The content and the layout are exemplary, attractive and informative - even for a long-term resident, let alone a prospective visitor."

Further information can be found by visiting Wine Travel Guides on-line. To discuss the development of the website, or the possibility of multiple gift subscriptions for corporate use, contact Wink Lorch directly.
